Flynn: an insurance death benefit

A relative told me I watch too much Fox News (not true, I watch Fox Business and listen to Bloomberg). He suspected I see leftist threats that don’t exist. Great advice, except the evidence is long-standing and overwhelming. Let’s work backwards – from Democrat plans for 2021 (assuming victory).

Borzou Daragahi of The Independent reports Democrats now expect a November sweep and total control in Washington. Anonymous insiders tell him Democrats are making Never Again plans that would make Pol Pot proud: payback will be hell.

  • “Too many Republicans went along with the Trump agenda, [so] raise the price for those who would consider enabling the [next] Trump by subpoenaing members of his inner circle [with members] prosecuted, subject to civil litigation, and publicly exposed.”
  • “Trump didn’t come out of nowhere; a constellation of media outlets, think tanks and financiers enabled his rise. All of them should be publicly named and compelled to speak before Congress [and their] charitable tax-exempt status [should be] carefully reviewed.”
  • “Courts packed with right-wing judges will resist [requiring] congressional impeachment, or the threat of it.”

Daragahi’s article exemplifies the side-street “liberal” media that reports what Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff would prefer independent voters don’t read.

Still, actions speak louder than words. To wit, Democrats politicized COVID-19; once claiming “racism” was behind the China travel ban before now claiming “fascism” is behind the open-up protests. Nancy Pelosi faulted the travel ban because US citizens were brought home from China. Really? And, of course, she could urge Californians to party in Chinatown (and NYC Mayor De Blasio could ask New Yorkers to gather in bars) while a populist president was asleep at the wheel. That’s a textbook double standard.

And so – – House Democrats created a special oversight committee to subpoena evidence of White House high crimes or misdemeanors in fighting COVID-19 – – that came after investigating “abuse of power” and “obstructing Congress” – – that came after the Mueller investigation – – that came after Peter Strzok set a perjury trap for Michael Flynn – – that came after Obama’s last-minute order to reveal the names of Republican surveillance targets – – that came after John Brennan leaked the Steele Dossier – – that came after Crossfire Hurricane (2016 Trump-Russia investigation) – – that came after Jim Comey found Hillary Clinton not guilty.

Be honest, did you suspect so many “criminals” inside the Trump campaign? Can you believe seven men (Carter Page, Michael Flynn, George Papadapoulos, Paul Manafort, Roger Stone, Rick Gates, and Michael Cohen) were spied upon, subpoenaed, indicted or jailed – even after their man Donald Trump was inaugurated? If a conservative-populist president’s associates can be touched while he’s in office, imagine the threat after he’s left office.

If you think Joe Biden will restore civility and decency in the Oval Office, then you’ve been watching too much CNN. Daragahi quotes an anonymous Democrat insider: “It was a huge mistake for Obama not to seek accountability. I want the next president to hold people accountable [for] inequality, corruption, oligarchy, [and] authoritarianism. [Trump won’t] vanish in a puff of smoke. He’ll still be on Twitter…calling in on Fox. He’ll still have his cult.”

This “insider” sounds like a Tin Pot Dictator; wanting a purge of Bush AND Trump Republicans. It echoes Lindsey Graham’s Kavanaugh outburst: “Boy, you guys want power. God, I hope you never get it.” The hope here is that William Barr brings indictments or, at the very least, the President unmasks and releases the dirty shenanigans. Voters must know what went around to prevent it coming around again.
