Oh, how they resisted!

America is crippled like never before and the White House is working around the clock, but Jim Acosta and Nancy Pelosi barely notice. The stress of mounting problems and non-stop decisions is of no concern to media boo-birds and Democrats, who hope there’s a Watergate in there – if they just can find it. This is regrettable, when most Americans know the task force has a tiger by the tail.

Watch the daily White House briefings: reporters stumble over each other with one “gotcha” question after another, including many point-blank “what did you know and when did you know it” hooks. If Barron were on stage with a Super Soaker, the press might behave – but no. The briefings are fertile ground for left-wing media outlets like MSNBC and Politico to uncover the President “snapping” at a reporter or “walking back” an answer.

My co-workers want Pelosi to speed Paycheck Protection funds to the company and stop fiddling around with new oversight committees. We know banks will red-tape loans and slow-walk funds, because they fear subpoenas and allegations. Loan decisions have always been imperfect, and working under the threat of defending bad loans years later is a needless hurdle when small businesses deserve speed to results.

Who cares about Watergate during the War of the Worlds? Humans are at war with a deadly enemy from a microscopic parallel world. In this nightmare movie, Pelosi’s the profiteering antagonist and Acosta’s the obnoxious bit player (whose demise is cheered). In real time, Pelosi fiddles as the Republic burns, and Acosta stumbles over his own ego. Boo!

Pelosi wants two star chambers chaired by Jim Clyburn and Adam Schiff. Clyburn is the “guardian” of tax-payer funds, but I’m betting the Kennedy Center’s $25 million takes a back seat to anti-Trump talking points for Joe Biden. Schiff is “investigating” the time and manner of America’s coronavirus response, but I’m betting China and the WHO get less press than allegations Trump gave “false hope” to America. What a waste of time!

It’s impossible to pump $6 trillion into the US economy without some waste and fraud (even if Willie the Pimp gets a check, he will spend it locally). And who trusts Adam Schiff anymore? Nobody, after three years of unethical probes and false allegations. We are at war and (in the words of Kenny Rogers) there’ll be time enough for counting when the dealing’s done.

Acosta and Pelosi have a root problem: their values are screwed up. In contrast, the coronavirus task force sets goals and makes decision based on a values-based hierarchy: (1) health, (2) helpfulness, and (3) recovery. There is no way money for NPR, arguing with Dr. Birx, or creating red tape will advance America’s health or prosperity. The guess here is that history will not be kind to either Acosta or Pelosi.
