We are in a unique moment in time where we have the ability to reset the global order, and we have to follow through.
Chamath Palihapitiya (All-In in DC)
Victor Davis Hanson sees a “Trump counter-revolution” brought on by a political class that – despite US economic and military might – allowed many millions of illegal aliens across the border, funded the rise of Communist China and Islamunist Iran, and mismanaged its way into yearly $2 trillion budget deficits. Luckily, it was a Glorious Revolution that peacefully ousted Biden-Harris.
78 million voters said “enough!” because (1) they believed Jefferson’s “inalienable rights” meant the opportunity to get a good job, house and health insurance, and (2) understood that “opportunity” had been expanded to include all US citizens. It was only after Biden gave non-citizens the right to a good job, house and health insurance – paid for by US citizens – that all hell broke loose.
What started as a trickle with Bill Clinton ($34.7 billion trade deficit, $4 trillion national debt, and 3,700,000 illegal aliens living here) turned into a tsunami under Biden ($1.2 trillion trade deficit, $36.5 trillion national debt, 13,800,000 illegal aliens living here, downgraded credit rating, two proxy wars, and identity-based betterment). In short, America’s future was very much in doubt.
What International Order?
For 25 years, the political class marched the US toward anarcho-globalism (i.e. pro-globalist rush to steer political authority and cultural production away from the nation-state). Presidents Clinton, Bush and Obama gave our good jobs to Mexico (NAFTA) and Red China (WTO), allowed 16,800,000 illegal aliens into the US, and ignored the Internet becoming a supranational tool that shifted power away from the US into informational networks that operated out of Washington’s control.
It is a fact that Al Qaeda weaponized young Americans on Facebook, the DNC was hacked in 2016 by Guccifer 2.0, Russia sowed misinformation in every election cycle, and China hacked corporate, educational and government IT systems. Don’t scoff, because a whistleblower just testified before Congress that Meta (Facebook) secretly helped China catch up to America’s AI advantage.
The counter-revolution against the “international order” is pressuring allies to pay for their own defense (NATO) and end wars that drain US weaponry (Ukraine). It is tariffs forcing trading partners to truly open their markets to US exports, and multinationals to re-shore manufacturing. It’s bombing Houthis into submission, denying Iran nukes, and removing China from the Panama Canal. How’s that for a 100-days work?
Not bad or without a fight. CNN’s Batya Ungar-Sargon hears globalist crying “it’s too late…it’s too messy…he should have used a scalpel” and states the obvious. “That’s why Trump won; to do what everyone saying ‘it’s impossible’ knows needs to be done. In the 2008 financial crisis, Americans saw a president pick Wall Street over Main Street. What they saw this time was a president willing to take on the entire global order for them.”
Truth, Justice and the American Way?
Presidents Bush, Obama and Biden were a disappointment, starting with the CIA’s “yellowcake uranium” report that led the US into never-ending wars. Identity politics begat the DEI war on innocent majority groups. Partisan agencies censored conservative speech, spied on Catholics, and indicted a political opponent. And, this trifecta is mostly to blame for the immigration crisis and crushing national debt.
The counter-revolution is hitting the administrative state hard, and rightfully so. The national debt ($36.5T) and 2025 budget deficit ($2T) are unsustainable. DOGE has exposed abuse (USAID), waste ($1 billion for a 10-question survey) and fraud (social security paid to hackers). So, the spurious lawsuits and hate-filled protests won’t stop the America First agenda…because we’re witnessing democracy in action.
DEI became toxic because 75.3% of Americans are of European heritage. Girl’s sports will be protected because 88.7% of Americans are heterosexual. Illegal aliens can be deported because 86.9% of Americans are native-born. Bureaucracies will get downsized because 69.6% of taxpayers work in the private sector (all data from USCB).
If these actions seem inhospitable, you’re probably not in the majority.
Take It from Bill Maher
Friday night, Bill Maher told his HBO audience about his dinner with President Trump. “I’m gonna report exactly what happened. And if that’s not enough pure Trump hate for you, I don’t give a (expletive). I told him I supported cops getting their morale back” and that “the border did need to be controlled, DEI had gone too far, biological men shouldn’t be playing women’s sports, Europe should pay for their defense, and Arab countries should take in Arab refugees.”
Further, Maher told Trump, “You’re scaring people. Do you really want to be scaring your own citizens so much?” Crickets, but Maher still flew home knowing “a crazy person doesn’t live in the White House…a person who plays a crazy person on TV lives there.” And that’s why this counter-revolution is both exhilarating and frightening (we’re living through it).
Who’s not thrilled by Trump’s announcement of “$7 trillion in private investment” and worried by Wall Street’s (negative) reaction to import tariffs? No Republican I know. Which is why this “revolution” will feel so much better in hindsight (we hope).
