Now, these people are entitled to their opinion, but they have an unwarranted sense of moral and intellectual superiority. And in this last election, we got real mad, and we sent a message, clearly, unequivocally: Happy Thanksgiving, my friend.

For at least 77,138,000 voters, it’s morning in America because of the 2024 election outcome. Mostly because Trump was re-elected and helped his party regain both chambers of Congress, but also because this time it feels different – and the evidence is everywhere.

The US dollar rallied, the Conference Board monthly survey found consumer confidence and job optimism at two-year and three-year highs, US stock indices hit record highs, Israel and Hezbollah agreed to a ceasefire deal, and Trump’s threats of tariffs elicited quick olive branches from the presidents of Mexico and Canada. Is there any other way to read these news items than reactions to the GOP trifecta – and the end of the Biden-Harris idiocracy?

After lawyers for Trump’s cabinet picks forced five on-air readings of disclaimers on The View, Whoopi Goldberg told a co-host to “wait and see” before she “accused Trump” of anything. And, after hearing MSNBC was for sale, Morning Joe’s co-hosts scurried to Mar a Lago for a make-nice meeting with Trump. Suddenly, after voters exonerated Trump and booted Democrats, the Left Flank have to watch what they say for fear of themselves being de-platformed.

Here’s what I think. They think they’re smarter and more virtuous than the American people. And they think we’re not real people. But we are real people.

It speaks volumes that Emerson’s latest poll shows 54% of Americans now approve of Trump, and CBS News’ latest poll shows 59% of Americans approve of Trump’s handling of the transition, meaning we the people want Tom Homan’s will to deport millions of illegals and Elon Musk’s skill to reduce government spending.

It’s morning in America because this year’s election was a mea culpa from 2020 voters: Biden’s voters said we were wrong with fewer ballots for Harris, while Trump’s voters got off their couches to ensure a too big to rig ballot haul. Trump’s story is not yet finished, but his last campaign was one for the ages (see the table below).

GOP Election Results
2016 2020 2024
Trump Popular Votes Won 62,985,000 74,224,000 77,138,000
Trump Popular Vote Margin – 2,868,000 – 7,060,000 + 2,415,000
Trump Battleground State Votes Won 12,872,000 15,191,000 16,139,000
Trump Battleground State Margin + 527,000 – 235,000 + 759,000
GOP House Popular Votes Won 63,182,000 72,467,000 74,066,00
GOP House Popular Vote Margin + 1,416,000 – 4,656,000 + 4,392,000

Captain Obvious would look at the data above and see one hell of a comeback story, but 2024 was much bigger than that. The 3-election arc shows un-interrupted growth in popular votes by both House Republicans and Donald Trump, who personally accrued steady growth in battleground-state votes. These trends are evidence of a consequential political movement, built on values like fair trade and patriotism, and not a democracy-threatening “cult” that Liz Cheney blames for her political downfall.

Poor Liz Cheney, missing what 94% of Republicans saw in America First (source: NEP exit polls). Some Trump voters felt censorship and weaponized agencies threatened their freedom. Many felt woke-liberal policies were making schools and workplaces toxic. Almost all remembered Trump’s economy, compared it to Biden’s, and voted their pocketbooks.

How did Cheney miss the inexplicable anomaly inside the 3-election arc (i.e. Democrat victories in 2020)? Seriously, because the data arc makes 2020 look more like double-dealing than voters repudiating Trump, especially now that everybody knows Democrats hid Biden’s senility and nominated Harris without a single primary-ballot cast in 2024.

Start with the Democrats’ presidential-election arc, where their national popular vote rose from 65.8 million in 2016 to 81.3 million in 2020, only to fall to 74.7 million in 2024. And don’t ignore their house-election arc, with national popular votes rising from 61.8 million in 2016 to 77.1 million in 2020, and falling to 69.7 million in 2024. How did they lose 6.6 million votes for president and 7.4 million votes for congress with 2024’s record spending? Hard to say for sure, but it’s morning in my house because Kamala paid Oprah $2,500,000 for an endorsement and still lost.

It’s morning in America because the party (DNC) that terminated two-thirds of its employees right before Thanksgiving without notice or severance pay is no longer in power (source: New York Post). It’s morning in America because Denver’s Democrat mayor’s “willing to go to jail to stop any deportation efforts” and New Jersey’s Democrat governor’s vowing to “fight to the death” against Trump’s policies – hollow boasts after a decisive loss.

Here’s what I think. I think these people are goofy. They hate George Washington and Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln and Dr. Seuss and Mr. Potato Head. They think our kids ought to be able to change genders at recess. They carry around Ziploc bags of kale to give themselves energy. To me — to each his own — to me, kale tastes like I’d rather be fat.

Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA)

To be sure, it’s morning in America because Pam Bondi and Marco Rubio are replacing Merrick Garland and Antony Blinken, but mostly because Democrats were hoisted by their own woke-liberal petard. That was the heart of John Kennedy’s call-out this week (re-read his quotes above). It’s morning in America because this time Republicans like Kennedy hold the gavels in Congress – – and the Trump administration can now do what’s necessary to make America great again!
