Hamas executes hostages when Israeli soldiers are close to rescuing them because the one thing they cannot accept is the idea of lowly Jews rescuing their own people. The kidnapped hostages are Hamas’s insurance policy to continue fighting until there is no more Israel.
Einat Wilf (The Jerusalem Post)
Last weekend, the IDF recovered six bodies of hostages from a tunnel in southern Gaza’s Rafah, who were murdered by Hamas to prevent their rescue by Israeli troops. On Monday, a spokesman for Hamas linked new protocols for guarding abductees to the IDF’s successful hostage rescue in Nuseirat last June:
“We say to everyone clearly that after the Nuseirat incident, new instructions were issued to the mujahideen assigned to guard the prisoners regarding dealing with them if the occupation army approached their place of detention. Netanyahu’s insistence on liberating the prisoners through military pressure instead of concluding a deal will mean that they will return to their families inside coffins.”
And that is Palestinianism. Kill 1,139 and abduct 251, rather than negotiate an agreement with Israel like Egypt and Jordan did. Act so barbaric that Human Rights Watch reported their “research found that the Hamas-led assault was designed to kill civilians and take as many people as possible hostage. The October 7 atrocities should spur a global call to action for an end to all abuses against civilians in Israel.”
This is the far-left’s ideology du jour because Palestinianism is rooted in identity politics (a struggle between Jews and Muslims). It first raised its ugly head at the 1972 Munich Games, when the PLO’s Black September terror group murdered Israeli athletes. It’s now surpassed communism as the paramount threat to western democracies, because Karl Marx rooted his “ism” in situational politics (a struggle between haves and have-nots). That does not serve the far-left for two reasons:
- Communism gave victims (the proletariat) the choice to rise up against oppressors (the bourgeoise), meaning victims also had the choice to flee the bad situation (like Cubans fleeing Castro, or Batista – take your pick).
- The victims (Gazans/Muslims) and oppressors (Israelis/Jews) in Palestinianism are born into their identities, meaning peace-loving Jews cannot escape antisemitism by coming to the USA, even as students at Harvard or members of Congress.
Palestinianism found its ideological soul mates in race-based and gender-based radicals in the US because of the far-left’s latest social theory; intersectionality, which posits that gender, religion and race intersect to create and maintain inequality that is maintained by multiple systems of power, privilege, and power (citing the Constitution, Christianity, and police departments). Absurd, when Black and LGBTQ Americans don’t have a dog in the fight.
Do LGBTQ activists know imports from Gaza to the US were only $6.8 million in 2023, compared to $490 billion from Mexico, and how harshly Gays are treated in the Middle East? Does Black Lives Matter know that 75% of Black Americans identify as Christian, and how harshly Christians are treated in the Middle East? Have both groups forgotten who’s hijacking those jetliners and blowing up those embassies?
How the far-left ignores the staggering cost of “political terror” to the US defies logic: 2,996 deaths on US soil from the 9-11 Al Qaeda attacks, and $8 trillion spent over 20 years in the War On Terror (source: Brown University). All because the PLO kept rejecting peace/statehood deals (sixteen from Bill Clinton alone), and Israel kept winning conventional wars waged by Arab armies on behalf of Palestine. MSNBC might not report it, but most Americans resent how anti-American Palestinianism is.
It’s why Somali refugee Ilhan Omar has not gratefully assimilated into the USA, choosing to attack Jewish members of Congress for “funding Israel’s occupation of Palestine” – despite 79% of her fellow Americans “lauding Jews’ cultural contributions to the nation” (source: Anti-Defamation League survey).
It’s how Students for Justice in Palestine spread anti-semitism through chapters on 350 US college campuses, and its website accuses the USA of “occupying” indigenous people’s lands – despite Native Americans leading all other ethnicities in US military service (+5%).
It’s why Iran’s test missiles have “Death To America” and “Death To Israel” on their fuselages, and most of the pro-Hamas demonstrations on US soil feature ritualistic American-flag burnings – despite the US giving $3.5 billion in aid to Iran since 2014, and sending $343 million in relief funds to Palestine in 2022.
It’s why pro-Hamas demonstrators celebrated the Hamas attack of Israel on October 7, 2023 – despite the beheading of a baby, gunning down entire families, and the rape-murders of many Israeli women – and ignored how Hamas hid military command posts beneath hospitals and schools in Gaza.
Suffice it to note that Palestinianism is rooted in evil. In 1941, Palestine’s Grand Mufti told Nazi Germany’s dictator that their common enemies were “the English (and) the Jews,” proposed an Arab revolt to drive the Jews, English, and French out of the Middle East, and asked Hitler to declare publicly that Germany favored “the elimination of the Jewish national home” (source: Time magazine). Today, Hamas gets its weapons from China, Iran, North Korea and Russia.
Hmm…from Adolph Hitler to Xi Jinping, Ali Khamenei, Kim Jong Un, and Vladimir Putin. You’d think the presidents of Harvard, MIT, and Penn would know the Axis of Evil was behind the October 7 attack, and guess the motive was to (1) drain the Arsenal of Democracy in a second proxy war, and (2) turn elite-college students against America.
Palestinianism – it’s what our enemies have unleashed upon us.
