The liberal elite see themselves as the determinants of moral correctitude: “the intellectually challenged working and middle classes need controlling.” With their cultures, history, and values all under attack, voters want their political class to do what is in the national interest.

Ben Habib (Reform UK deputy leader)

If Democrats don’t know why the 27-nation European Union is down to only five socialist-led members, they should re-watch the DeSantis-Newsom debate from Thursday night, when the California governor showcased liberal elitism for all to see. He refused to answer THE question, then jeered loudly as DeSantis DID answer. He refused accountability for his state’s woes, then accused Florida of enacting the same (bad) policies. The only thing missing was the Pinocchio nose.

Why would Newsom rebut on-screen data (from Biden’s agencies) with false claims like California’s a low-tax state that’s adding residents and reducing crime? Hard to say for sure, but the guess here is he assumes “intellectually challenged working and middle class” voters (1) don’t know what to believe, and (2) are in awe of the political class and their media allies. That’s so 2020-2021, because the middle has ruptured – and voters aren’t moving leftward.

In the last 30 days, Argentine and Dutch voters opted for conservatives Javier Milei and Geert Wilders, and Trump has surged ahead of Biden in the Real Clear Politics polling average. Conservatives rule Hungary and Italy, and are part of governing coalitions in Finland, Slovakia, and Sweden. The hard-right AFD is Germany’s second-largest political party, and right-wing populist Marine Le Pen is poised to become France’s president in 2027. What’s going on?

Western democracies are leaning right because of national insecurity and rising misery indexes, just like in 1979-1980. That’s when Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan swept incumbent Labour and Democrats out of power, saving our Anglo-American bacon. Thanks to conservatives, the USSR, Iraq, and inflation were defeated. The world never had it so good as the peace and prosperity those two left behind.

Which is why voters fell for the “peace dividend” Bill Clinton and Tony Blair promised to spend wisely, right before they sold out to the anarcho-globalists at the EU, UN and WTO. Those two so-called “moderates” planted the seeds that grew into one dope-slap after another to middling folks in Europe and the Americas.

Like sending first-world jobs to third-world countries, which allowed Red China to set wages (low) for the entire planet and down-size factory towns into amenity-devoid communities. Less money in fewer households begat empty churches, downtowns and schools, as well as fewer dentists, doctors, and repairmen (I know, I lived in such a community).

Like asking first-world taxpayers to subsidize third-world refugees, who crowded native-born children’s schools, pushed native-born youths out of entry-level jobs, gobbled up entitlements, and rejected local customs.

Like reducing first-world oil and gas production, taxing first-world energy consumption, opening first-world borders, and declaring first-world heroes to be evil; thereby creating the worst of times in western democracies.

Let’s just say out loud what working and middle class Argentines and Dutch said with their ballots. If the political class is so smart, why did their COVID policies leave so many with a lower standard of living? If the liberal elites are so benevolent, why have they let anti-racists pick on white first-graders, transgender males pick on female athletes, and college administrators pick on Jews?

And the more legacy newspapers proclaim Milei voters “unhinged” and Trump supporters “fascist” and Wilders voters “anti-Islamic” on their pages, the more they miss the point. These are not haters with votes but voters with hearts; individuals who love, respect, and trust their Judeo-Christian faith, their family’s values, and their community’s traditions. The first world is catching on, which is why not even 10% of Americans read national newspapers (source: Statista).

The “Big Lie” from 2021 turns out to be Biden’s “defense of democracy” that’s attacked democratic ideals at every turn:

  • Tried to negate voter ID laws that 79% of voters support
  • Pushed “gender affirming” policies that 74% of Americans oppose
  • Allowed open borders that 76% of voters want controlled
  • Ordered climate-and-energy policies that 71% of Americans oppose

That polling (from Gallup or Democrats John Halpin and Ruy Teixeira) resulted from just one year of Biden’s top-down arrogance, which takes us back to the quote up top: Joe Biden and Gavin Newsom really do think America’s “intellectually challenged working and middle classes” can be controlled against their wishes, and THAT’S what’s on the ballot in 2024.

Just like it was in Argentina and the Netherlands last month (note to the GOP: don’t blow it).
