Now, let me make one thing clear — I haven’t changed. The Democratic Party has changed. It’s become a toxic combination of radical leftists and liberal elites in San Francisco and Hollywood.

Most Republicans don’t care that coke and pot showed up in Biden’s White House. What they do care about are the wild-eyed radicals in the White House that have pushed the Democrat Party too far left; so far that not even a third of all voters support Biden’s positions on climate and energy, immigration, and transgenderism. No wonder 70% of Americans, including 51% of Democrats, don’t want him to run in 2024.

Two moderate Democrats, John Halpin and Ruy Teixeira, just released polling data that shows just how out of touch Democrats are. Teixeira says many Democrats “believe they can get away with indulging, if not promoting, cultural leftism because Trump and the Republicans are so terrible.” He disagrees, because too many moderate Democrats oppose the President’s radical positions – on top of Republicans and Independents. His findings are eye-opening.

Biden’s climate and energy position – the US needs a rapid green transition to end the use of fossil fuels and replace them with fully renewable energy sources – is supported by only 29% of voters. Almost as many voters (25%) support increased fossil fuels production and oppose green energy projects, and a plurality (46%) wants abundant and cheap energy from multiple sources, including oil and gas, nuclear, and renewables.

Put another way, 71% of voters oppose the President’s green extremism. Inside his own party, 77% of moderates oppose a rapid green transition. Similarly, 82% of independents oppose a rapid green transition. What most moderate Democrats (58%) and Independents (54%) want is a diverse basket of energy to promote abundance and affordability. That’s the free-market approach, which has never let Americans down.

Biden’s immigration position – the world’s people have a right to claim asylum, and the US should allow more immigrants into the country – is supported by only 24% of voters. A clear majority (59%) wants a secure border and legal immigration, which is managed to bring in skilled professionals and workers to help our economy grow. Only 17% want to reduce all levels of immigration.

How can Joe Biden ignore a super-majority (76%) of voters who oppose his Open Borders policies? He cannot, not when 66% of moderate Democrats and 62% of Independents want secure borders and controlled immigration. Here’s the ugly secret: 65% of very liberal Democrats want permissive immigration policies, but they are only 25% of the party. And, since Democrats constitute just 25% of the electorate, this means Biden’s immigration policy is controlled by a measly 6.25% of the electorate.

Biden’s transgender position – states must protect all trans youths by letting them participate fully in all activities and sports as the gender of their choice, and by providing access to puberty blockers and transition surgeries – is supported by only 26% of voters. This position is political Kryptonite when 41% of all voters (a plurality) think states should ban gender transition treatments for minors and stop discussion of gender ideology in public schools.

74% of all voters oppose Biden’s “gender affirming” policies, which are supported by just 18% of moderate Democrats and 15% of Independents. The big support (71%) comes from very liberal Democrats, whose control of the DNC – and Biden’s transgender position – is absolute. Add this to Biden’s senility and Karine Jean-Pierre’s lies, and a Red Wave in 2024 should be a given. Except Republicans have their own Kryptonite: Trump.

Trump’s positions seem draconian to swing voters. For example, just 17% of all voters want to reduce all immigration, and barely 25% support a flat-out reliance on fossil fuels. Trump’s positions are, of course, nuanced, but this is politics. Try getting college-educated men or suburban women to look past how he talks about transgenders, immigration, and the climate – because they are the swing vote.

The DNC has no interest in replacing Biden, because they are convinced Republicans care more about vindicating Trump than saving America. They think dumb MAGA voters will prevent a fresh Republican face – like DeSantis, Haley, or Scott – from wresting the nomination from Trump. Maybe, but the GOP is at least holding debates and town halls, where the party has a chance to course-correct.

More GOP forums mean GOP voters might eventually hear that 66% of Independents, who are 49% the electorate, don’t even want Trump to run (source: NPR). That’s one of two arguments for a fresh face to top the GOP ticket in 2024.

The other is that 78% of Independents don’t want Biden to run (NBC News). Not because he demonizes Republicans and snarks at reporters ad nauseam, and not even because of his lies, gaffes and stumbles. It is his positions that turn off swing voters; policy positions that are so radical, 70% of voters want a new leader.
