ABC News was caught in a big, fat lie!

How far left are CNN and the New York Times to smear a Democrat Samoan-American congresswoman? Yet, hours before the debate, a CNN analyst called Tulsi Gabbard a “puppet for the Russian government.” An October 12 Times article accused her of “defending the brutal Syrian dictator, Bashar al-Assad.” Mind you, this is a moderate Democrat being portrayed as a make-believe demon. Go figure.

If Democracy Dies in Darkness, the press should report facts and inform voters without partisan bias. No wonder their liberal influence-peddling has alienated 59% of the American public (source: Gallup polling). Partisan bias is the issue: only 15% of Republicans and 36% of Independents trust the mainstream media. In comparison, 69% of Democrats trust the likes of CNN and the Times. The bias is real, and conservatives must heed caveat emptor to become better consumers of the news.

After Watergate, liberal bias was most prevalent when the press reported how and why events happened. Just look at their attempts to report “how” Hillary Clinton lost in 2016. One day later, CNN’s Van Jones explained how “whitelash” caused her surprise defeat – when polling data indicated low black-voter turnout. Even worse were their attempts to explain “why” Bret Kavanaugh should not be a Supreme Court justice.

It is obviously easier for reporters to uncover who-what-when-where than how-why in their coverage. To wit, it was easier to determine Jack Ruby shot Lee Harvey Oswald at 12:20PM on November 24, 1963, in the basement of Dallas Police headquarters. Less certain was how Ruby knew when Oswald would arrive or why he killed him – in spite of countless articles that advanced one conspiracy theory or another.

Fast-forward to the current impeachment mania. It is easy to determine President Trump called Ukrainian President Zelensky on July 25th from the Oval Office, and the transcript provides the details of the conversation. Still unknown is “how” the whistleblower came by the hearsay and into contact with Adam Schiff, or “why” a Chinese venture capitalist and a Ukrainian energy company engaged Hunter Biden as a business associate.

Only a loyal liberal would turn to CNN after employee Gary Poarch gave Project Veritas recordings of network boss Jeff Zucker telling staffers, “impeachment is the story” and to “knock off” their friendliness to Lindsey Graham (R-SC). Even worse, CNN staffer Christian Sierra was recorded saying Zucker ordered Jake Tapper to skip commercials during an interview with Kellyanne Conway “to just f**king nail her.”

Is CNN’s bias the “insurance policy” that guarantees Gabbard’s (and Trump’s) 2020 campaign die in darkness – just because she doesn’t conform to globalist orthodoxy or the politics of person destruction. She opposes regime-change wars, where America supplies its soldiers as cannon fodder, and she opposes impeachment because it’s divisive. Honestly, her reasonable ideas and measured answers made her the only “presidential” candidate on stage Tuesday.

The mainstream media is at war with President Trump, who pushes back with “fake news” claims. Most Americans interpret “fake news” to mean biased spin of his comments and policies – not who-what-where-when lies. However, ABC News recklessly reported Sunday that video footage from a shooting range in Kentucky was a firefight between Turkish forces and Kurds. They retracted the story on Monday – after the “real news” was released.

The Conservative Guardian was created to make sense of partisan nonsense, because bias is part of advancing a political agenda. Sadly, yesterday’s biased spin has metamorphosed into today’s figments of partisan imagination; such as liberal pundits claiming today’s economy is the result of Obama’s brilliance. This – – is why conservatives must consume the news with caution and call BS when they see it.
