If President Trump gets re-elected in 2020, Democrats and their media allies will be largely to blame, because they are inviting a right-minded resistance. Trump’s self-destructive behavior has resulted in only 38% of likely 2020 voters preferring Trump over the Democrat field (source: Wall Street Journal/NBC poll) and, if the DNC were smart, they would insist Democrats stop reminding swing voters why they rejected their last candidate (Hillary Clinton).

It was always doubtful Trump’s swing voters could tolerate his emotional intensity for four years. So – why are Democrats re-igniting the same disgust and anger that rejected their shoo-in candidate in 2016? Hard to say, but the liberal smart set cheers socialist “solutions” (70% corporate tax rates), demonizes opponents, and subverts Trump at every turn – all of which serves to fire up the silent majority.

Moderates and conservatives are understandably alarmed when Democrats and media pundits promote extreme policies that will not work in America. Democrats could nominate Kamala Harris, who wants to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE); or Bernie Sanders, who wants to give every American free health care; or Elizabeth Warren, who wants higher corporate taxes and regulations.

If those extremists aren’t bad enough, the mad-lib media is now in love with an un-informed socialist, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. In spite of her knowledge gaps, not a day goes by without fawning coverage of her free everything. Non-Democrats get the message: a partisan press is promoting the type of socialism that ruined Cuba and Venezuela.

Moderates and conservatives are also sick and tired of Democrats and their media cronies demonizing Americans who hold opposing views. Non-liberals recognize and reject right-wing hate groups, but they also observe and reject left-wing totalitarians denying conservative their right to free speech and to peaceably assemble. Non-liberals should be angered by anti-fascists, who insist their “moral supremacy” on race, gender and assimilation is justification for violently silencing other voices.

How effective is it to insist every opposing view is a “dog whistle” with a nefarious motive? Polling numbers show moderates are turned off when liberals interpret Republican support for law enforcement as a “dog whistle” for white supremacy. Conservatives know better: Democrats employ “dog whistle” politics all the time. Just this week, Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) claimed the Trump Wall is “immoral” with an ulterior motive (hint-hint: nativism or racism).

Non-Democrats noticed Pelosi accepted the 700 miles of “immoral” wall built by Clinton, Bush and Obama. Let me be clear: her “morality” issue is Trump’s presidency. Why else would the California Democrat accept the status quo of $800 billion in smuggled drugs or the sexual attacks on Central American woman trekking through Mexico? Rhetorical question: if coyotes were smuggling $800 billion in fossil fuel across the southern border, would Pelosi see the “morality” of Trump’s wall? Don’t hold your breath!

Moderates and Republicans are sick and tired of liberal outrage after every Trump decision and comment. After Obama lied that Americans “could keep their doctor or healthcare plan” and Clinton falsely blamed Benghazi on a “YouTube video” and Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) lied about his combat service in Vietnam, the left’s incessant fact-checking of Trump looks two-faced.

Swing voters can forgive Trump’s exaggerations just like they forgave Bill Clinton’s infidelity. Such is not the case with the press. Even when Trump provided actual facts to support funding for the border wall, media fact-checkers cried “deception” because he used the term “fence” rather than “wall” – and the Washington Post reported the president was “right but misleading” about 266,000 illegal aliens being arrested “because this number includes all types of crimes.” I am not making this stuff up!

Most Americans want to believe in truth, justice and the American way – and they are turned off by power-craving politicians and biased news outlets, which accurately describes the left.

Political power was the obvious issue when Nancy Pelosi falsely claimed a wall was the “least effective way” to secure the border. In fact, border walls have reduced illegal crossings: 90% over 15 years in Tucson, 92% over 23 years in San Diego, and 95% over 22 years in El Paso and over 9 years in Yuma (source: Wall Street Journal). Does Pelosi have a knack for turning an electorate against Democrats – or what?

Political bias was the obvious issue when CNN’s Jim Acosta asked Kellyanne Conway to promise “the president would tell the truth when addressing the nation.” Conway knew 62% of Americans believe the news is biased (source: Gallup) and 72% believe “traditional outlets report news they know to be fake, false or purposely misleading” (source: Axios) – and pushed back hard: “Don’t you put it back in my face [after] all the corrections your network [has needed] to issue.” Woo-hoo!

The right-minded resistance is not nefarious – – not at all. Americans are just being fair-minded when they reject affirmative-action policies that are used to hold back Asian-American students. They are just being fair-minded when they reject pro-choice views that are used to keep Catholic women off the Supreme Court. They are just being fair-minded when they reject open-borders that flood blue-collar communities with wage-depressing immigrants. Still, Democrats and their media allies have short memories.

Trump was aided and abetted in 2016 by a mainstream media that attacked him non-stop, giving him underdog status. They are at it again: firing up his base and irritating swing voters. Isn’t it absurd to insist Trump is 100% bad for America before knowing his 2020 opponent? Hard to say, but malice and petulance are no match for rising employment and wages, plus support for capitalism, Christians and cops.
