You’ve obviously heard about President Biden’s crib notes, which outline actions most of us take for granted. Comedians had a field day with it, but it’s no laughing matter when an American president’s mental acuity is so uncertain.

In 2018, with Trump in office and Democrats poised to win the House, the Brookings Institution posed this question to its readers:

What do we do if the American president is senile, unhinged, dangerously impulsive, divorced from reality, suffering from short-term memory loss, likely to start a nuclear war and therefore dangerous to the Republic?

They ruled out impeachment because it “has a legal dimension – high crimes and misdemeanors.” This led Brookings to “the 25th Amendment, specifically Section 4 of the amendment” that “addresses the problem of fitness for office.” The point here is that Brookings is filled with Democrats, and turn around is fair play. Let’s apply their anti-Trump logic to Biden

If the American president is senile – stumbling up stairs, turning to shake invisible hands, and falling off bikes is cause for alarm.

If the American president is unhinged – lashing out at reporters, dissing voters for real questions, and nerdy whispers are red flags.

If the American president is dangerously impulsive – ditto above, especially terminating press briefings by wheeling away from the podium and uttering “I’m outta here!”

If the American president is divorced from reality – blaming Putin, Republicans, and Trump for outcomes he induced with his spending bills and executive orders is simply delusional.

If the American president is suffering from short-term memory loss – Biden cannot remember where he is, whom he’s lauding, or what he’s explaining to audiences. His memory is the worst EVER.

If the American president is likely to start a nuclear war – to just assume Putin respects Biden’s command and control over the US nuclear arsenal is irresponsible.

Lucky for Biden, the GOP is even more frightened of Kamala Harris’s mental acuity than his. Maybe this July 4th the ghosts of presidents past will come into his bedroom and frighten Biden into retirement (back to a Delaware basement would be nice).

Happy Fourth!
