Five months remain before November’s elections, when a Republican wave will reset political control of the country. Last week, the nonpartisan Cook Political report moved 10 more House races to the GOP and predicted Democrats would lose between 20 and 35 seats. Internal party polling now shows a 10-point popular-vote edge for Republicans (heretofore unseen) and Democrats losing from 52 to 64 seats.

This spells obvious trouble for President Biden, his administration, and his son Hunter, because House gavels and committees will no longer be in friendly Democrat hands. Republicans will control Congress with a three-prong mandate to dig into Biden’s (and his cabinet’s) dirt:

  1. Biden is the “most unpopular president ever” in my poll of polls, and most voters are now cynical about his executive orders (border chaos and gas prices) and those Chinese bio-labs.
  2. The Trump wing is seething over the Democrat January 6 investigation and believes turnaround is fair play.
  3. A majority of states (between 28 and 31) will have GOP trifectas (governor and both legislative chambers), who will be pushing their House colleagues to slow Biden’s roll.

Thus, they have the numbers (large majority) and the motive to make life very difficult for Mr. Biden. It is already leaking that a White House shake-up will occur after the mid-terms (rats leaving a sinking ship). Here are the most likely investigations and hearings Republican will schedule for 2023.

The Afghanistan Withdrawal – Republicans are already on the record with their intent to investigate White House decisions about where to concentrate U.S. personnel and resources before the evacuation from Kabul. The GOP smells a rat: (1) mixed administration messages on why the exit flopped, (2) multiple (and conflicting) intelligence reports on the Taliban’s strength and ability to overrun the country, and (3) leaving Bagram Air Base (and its arsenal) weeks before the US departure.

The Border Fiasco – Republicans are united in their anger over the waves of illegal immigrants crossing the southern border. They want Biden to explain why he rescinded most of Trump’s border and deportation policies, which triggered the uptick in illegal immigration. They want to impeach DHS Security Secretary Mayorkas, who oversaw the collapse of US resources on the Mexican border.

The Fauci Conspiracy – Republicans in both chambers want to investigate Dr. Anthony Fauci for his role in two administrations’s COVID responses. Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) wants Fauci to answer allegations of an accidental leak from a Chinese virology lab and subsequent cover-up. The GOP wants Fauci to explain his mask about-face (“no” to begin and “yes” later), CDC disclosures of vaccine efficacy data, and his role in the pipeline between the CDC and teachers unions.

The Social Media CabalAxios reports Republicans have plans to bring social-media executives into Congress to address political bias in Big Tech. This will include “document requests and subpoenas and depositions” in 2023. The GOP also has plans to reduce the power of Facebook and Google, requiring hearings to discover what new regulations the industry needs.

The Biden Grifters – Republicans have already expressed skepticism over Hunter Biden’s businesses and Joe Biden’s conflict of interest as Obama’s VP. The son’s laptop has incriminating information, that has been independently authenticated, about pay-to-play schemes in China, Mexico, and Ukraine. GOP legislators are also interested in candidate Biden’s denials of involvement (the laptop begs to differ) and how Obama-era intelligence leaders came up with the Russian Disinformation letter days before the election.

Come November, Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Mitch McConnell (R-KY) will have Biden by the you-know-what. With a conservative high court, oodles of red states, and a GOP Congress, the President will wish his mom had never met his daddy (and probably wish Hunter had not been born). It’s going to get loud, there will be hearings, the truth will out, and there might be an impeachment or two.

Get out your Reagan jelly beans and Bush popcorn, because Fox News will have it wire to wire.
