What screws up, must come down!

Has there ever been a summer swoon like Joe Biden’s (Nixon’s summer of 1974 excepted)? No, based on Civiqs’ polling done this week. 189,000 Americans responded, and 51% overall have an unfavorable view of the President (only 44% favorable), 51% of college graduates have an unfavorable view (compared to 42% on Election Day), and he’s underwater in all seven battleground states, down from 4 points (NV) to 13 points (GA).

What’s even more remarkable is that, having carried 27 states, a majority (over 50%) of voters in only ten states hold a favorable view of this president eight months later. This is true, and majorities in 31 states hold an unfavorable view of Joe Biden. Democrat strategists, like James Carville, see these numbers as the Kabul hangover, but where’s the good news? Look outside, Jimmy. It’s raining like hell.

I think the American people just know when something’s not right. I have also observed early favorites, who later disappoint, become the most despised. In that light, can you blame Americans for souring on Joe Biden. He promised competence – and delivered a border crisis and Afghanistan embarrassment. He declared economic and pandemic victories – and sends minions out to explain inflation and the need for facemasks.

One Civiqs chart (see below) is worthy of a closing note: this president is under water with every age group. Look closely at the 18-34 and 35-49 age groups, whom Democrats claim are theirs to lose.

That was always a false hope. Gen Z voters cared about global warming, until a gallon of gas cost $5.00. Millennial moms wanted unarmed police forces, until crime spiked in America. As Bruce Hornsby sang, that’s just the way it is…some things will never change.
