The stand-off between Chicago’s Democrat mayor (Lori Lightfoot) and the Chicago Teachers Union is one reason I voted for that man last November. I just knew Biden would allow teachers unions (NEA and AFT) to create a “lost generation” of Americans, who are dumbing down with each passing month. And, unlike Trump-Putin, this Biden-Teacher collusion is a clear and present danger that will ruin the nation.

This pandemic is the greatest long-term threat to US prosperity ever. Not only is it drowning entire economic sectors, such as travel and leisure, it’s leaving America with un-sustainable debt. Into such a future, the nation should be armed with its greatest generation ever – not a posse of poorly educated/socialized citizens. America won’t be the first civilized nation ruined when a generation was widely disrupted.

Historians reduce Halifax and Chamberlain to vision-lacking cowards, a fair conclusion after the Austrian Anschluss in 1938, but England’s then prime minister and foreign secretary wanted to prevent another devastated generation, such as left by World War I. They’d seen a great war cripple an economy and its re-builders. This is the macro-threat of COVID, and the science-math argument is decidedly for school re-openings.

Right before the election, only 100 children and teenagers had died from COVID (source: Washington Post). Aware of this data, a real teacher would elect to teach behind plexiglass to ensure real education and real social maturation for the kids; the reason campuses exist. Put into baby-boomer context, risking (maybe) 1,000 kids to prevent a lost generation makes more sense than risking 58,000 kids to prevent communism from spreading in Southeast Asia.

Teachers unions are THE opposition to re-opening schools, and their catchy slogan (I’m a teacher not a martyr) speaks volumes. The highest under-65 COVID death rate in America is in New York City: 79 per million (0.008%), lower odds than dying from a sharp object, like those scissors in shop class. If NYC schools are kinda/sorta open, why not Chicago? Because the teachers union wants its members at the front of the vaccine line – ahead of your grandma.

Mike Bloomberg is calling BS. The former New York mayor wants President Biden to stand up to the teachers unions. His recent op-ed urges the President to “stand up” to unions, tells teachers to “suck it up,” and warns parents virtual learning is “worse than a joke.” Don’t count on Biden bullying the NEA and AFT, because they put him over the top in every close-call swing state. They gave 89.7% of their vote and 91% of their donations to Biden, and a whopping $40 to Trump (source: Union Report 74).

The former New York mayor, who was the right Democrat to replace Trump, knows the NEA and AFT have 4.7 million me-first members. So it’s a pity the right-thinking voters, who rejected Hillary to protect American workers from globalists, didn’t show up to protect American kids from unionists. Twenty years from now, when your tax returns are cocked up, please remember Joe Biden kept your accountant out of math class.
