Barack Obama’s now infamous lecture to Republicans in 2009 (“elections have consequences (and) I won”) is now haunting the rabid left, who believed a blue-wave would force Biden, Pelosi, and Schumer to dump centrist politics. Earlier posts have detailed the dismal Democrat showing nationwide, but the biggest losers were supporters of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders. To be blunt, voters said “nyet” to socialism.

The kill shot to Sanders landed the weekend of South Carolina’s primary, when a black Democrat (Clyburn) put the wind at Biden’s back and stuck a fork in socialism. Personally, I popped a champagne cork, because the enemy of free-market capitalists are central-state socialists, such as AOC and Sanders. And, if you’re not clear on this, get a load of Mayor De Blasio (D-NY) last week: “I’d like to say very bluntly our mission is to redistribute wealth.”

Right-thinking conservatives should celebrate big victories (keeping Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren out of power) and accept small setbacks (Biden presidency). Sanders vowed to create a national minimum wage of $15 an hour; thereby hurting small job creators and entry-level employees. Warren promised to “take on giant banks, Wall Street, and CEOs (and) beat them” and lobbied for Treasury Secretary. Thank God, Biden chose former Fed Chair Janet Yellen.

De Blasio admits a 52-48 Republican senate makes his progressive vision (pack the high court and save public-employee unions) impossible. With a 50-50 chamber the best case, hope hung on Vice President Harris saving mad-liberal bills; a bubble quickly burst by Joe Manchin (D-WV). Now, polls show Republican senators up by six and two points in Georgia. Even if Democrats pull off two upsets, progressive appointments will die in a 50-50 Senate.

The crushing upset on Election Day took place in the House, where Nancy Pelosi clings to an 11 seat majority. Centrist Democrats blame AOC socialists (tax and spend) and Black Lives Matter (defund the police) for ten more Republicans. Thus, Ocasio-Cortez was denied a plum seat on Energy and Commerce by secret ballot and, to avoid being linked to defunding police departments, Kamala Harris refused a meeting with Black Lives Matter. Clearly, independent voters and 2020 weighed on these decisions.

Lost in Trump’s defeat is that he set a new record for popular votes (eclipsing Obama 2008). When an incumbent gains 11 million more voters, it means he committed no high crimes or misdemeanors and invites 74,000,000 Americans to believe the real “insurance policy” paid off on Election Night. Biden’s victory is so mathematically implausible, the guess here is there will be a backlash against absentee ballots and a push for photo IDs.

A mindful conservative sees Democrats, especially in blue states and blue cities, proving the Peter Principle (at the level of their own incompetence). This is crystal clear to small business owners (Trump voters), who see through charlatans like AOC and De Blasio, and Cuban-Americans, who’ve witnessed how socialist power corrupts. This is why Democrats, with the exception of Biden, will remember November 3, 2020, as Toolshed Tuesday. MAGA is here to stay.
