In my Virginia school days, New England Puritans evoked government-led religious intolerance, such as the Salem witch trials and The Scarlet Letter. I thought 17th-century Puritans were barbaric; terrorizing their innately depraved neighbors by burning, dunking and lynching Adam’s original sin out of their souls. 350 years later, it is obvious Puritan zealots were just woke before “woke” was cool.
Today’s woke zealots are Antifa and Black Bloc, who are busy burning, carving and drowning America’s original sin (slavery) out of capitalists and Caucasians. Their Pearl Harbor moment was the cruel death of George Floyd, after which colleges, newsrooms and Democrat-led cities erupted in civil war. Today’s woke bible is the New York Times “1619 project” that explains how colonials importing African slaves embedded innate depravity (systemic racism) in America’s white majority.
According to the Times, America’s original sin is responsible for three national perversions: (1) today’s white wealth is owed to long-dead slaves, (2) Anglo-American cultural constructs hamper non-whites, and (3) white laws and cops oppress non-whites. The “1619 project” traces all racial disparities in wealth, test scores, and voting behavior back through Trump, Nixon’s Southern strategy and Dixiecrats to the “original sin” of chattel slavery.
USA Today ranks poverty rates for identity groups: young single moms (44.3%), the disabled (25.7%), native Americans (25.4%), high-school dropouts (24.7%), African-Americans (23%), illegal immigrants (20.4%), Latinos (19.4%), and all women (14.5%). This data suggests being white is less important than one’s ability to work (e.g. get a diploma or green card); debunking the Times wealth theory.
It’s useless to resent the civilized world being mostly a European construct, and absurd that cancel culture faculty at Rutgers just “declared that proper English grammar is racist” and plans to “decolonize” the English department (source: Washington Free Beacon). It’s obvious proper grammar exists for clarity – not oppression – which is why all air traffic is managed in English. Are you ready for Spanglish on your last will and testimony? Didn’t think so.
The great WOKE lie is that systemic racism exists in voting laws; thereby helping Republicans. Not true. Since 1966, the percentage of blacks voting in all elections has risen (41% to 48% in 2018) while the percentage of whites voting has fallen (58% to 51% in 2018). In fact, it is age, not race, that affects voting: in 2018, only 30% of voters under 24-years-old – whether black or white – voted (source: USCB). In short, if Republicans are oppressing black votes, they suck at it.
I was shocked that Democrats took a wet rat-tail to Attorney General Barr Tuesday, but spoke glowingly of rioters in Seattle and Portland. It was an example of video-branding by rehearsed and repetitive soundbites for their media allies to replay Tuesday night, while mad-liberal pundits called Barr a “Nazi” and US Marshalls “stormtroopers.” And, there you have it.
